Social justice is Indigenous justice.

Climate justice is Indigenous justice.

The Indigenous Foundation is a grassroots, youth-led organization of change-makers and activists, consisting of 30+ Indigenous and POC women, two-spirited, and non-binary folk, striving to uplift, advocate for, and raise awareness about Indigenous rights.

Through encouraging intersectional activism and amplifying Indigenous voices, The Indigenous Foundation hopes to educate others about Indigenous rights, motivate others to take accountability, and practice advocacy and action.

The Indigenous Foundation was founded in November 2020, by Meera Baswan and Sena Yenilmez. Through its various social media platforms, it has amassed to over 70 thousand followers, has raised over $9000 of proceeds through its t-shirt fundraiser and has managed to reach over 2 million individuals through podcasts, articles, and posts. TIF hopes to only continue to spread awareness on and educate others about Indigenous rights and culture.

Support Indigenous Communities

There have been multiple discoveries regarding the bodies of over 2000+ and counting Indigenous children who have been discovered at various former residential school sites. For many Indigenous communities, this is a time of mourning, for these children whose lives were forgotten, and who suffered and endured brutal conditions and treatment. We must honour the lives of these children, and do what we can to pay our respects. It is imperative to do what we can to take action. You can visit our ‘Resources’ page to learn about an overview of what Residential Schools are, and their ongoing impacts. Visit our donate page to learn more and support Indigenous led non-profit organizations.

Indigenous peoples still suffer the intergenerational impacts of residential schools to this day.
