Bárbara (she/her) is a strong believer in equity and inclusion. Originally from Brazil, she spent over 4 years backpacking solo to 25+ countries. This experience helped her become more culturally sensitive and gain a better understanding of various cultures and peoples. She enjoys indoor gardening. Based in Toronto since 2019, she turned her house into a potted jungle with 40+ plants. As a columnist at TIF, her mission is to raise awareness and broaden perspectives while empowering Indigenous peoples’ voices. Through research and writing, she expects to help and act to diminish the cultural misunderstandings and stereotypes around Indigenous histories and contemporary issues.
