here and now
Intersectional Indigenous Photobook
The Indigenous Foundation’s Projects Team is beyond excited and deeply honored to present our first Virtual Photobook of self-portraits celebrating the intersectional forms of Indigeneity. So often in the media and world, Indigenous representation has been presented by non-Indigenous peoples with a narrow look at what a complex and multifaceted community of people looks like.
It is our wish to create a space for people to reclaim and express their power, joy, pain, and beauty that encompasses their Indigeneity. In addition, we recognize that who we are is ever-evolving, and therefore what’s reflected in these stunning pieces of work represents just the here and now, just one piece of the journey.
-With great appreciation, Madi and Alexandra.
